Snow! Here today, gone ....today
Today, we went to a Southern Baptist Church, First Baptist of Ketchikan. It was nice and almost felt like home. The congregation was small, but they have a very nice facility. And they were very friendly. Made us feel very welcome. I'm sure we will go back again.

Let it Snow, let it Snow, let it Snow!
Tuesday, March 17, 2009
Last week I went to the end of the road --literally. Going north out of Ketchikan, the road literally ends, just stops. There are houses along the way, but you don't see many of them, they are hidden in the beautiful trees.
As you go north you get a sneak peak of the water/mountains from the road. It is absolutely beautiful. I hope to explore this a little more over the next week or so. Actually get out of the car and take pictures of it.
There are several little islands, I mean little. And on some of these little islands, there is a house. Interesting. When the weather clears up and the sun is out, I will get pictures of these little islands.
Over the weekend, we purchased a weight bench and some weights, and ordered an exercise bike. Now we can work out when we can't get out.
Well, for now, I'm going to stop. I'm tired of having to try to figure out how to do this stuff. I will continue later.
Anniversary Day!

Johnson&Johnson
We flew into the Ketchikan airport on Sunday evening (3/8/09) around 8:30 p.m. Alaska time (3 hrs difference from Central, 4 hrs difference Eastern). The airport is across the passageway from the town, and we had to take a ferry across. Being dark, we did not see much of the town.
We were given a van used by the clinic to use as our transportation. Needless to say, it has seen better days. But, hey, it gets us around.
The living arrangement is very nice. It is one bedroom, 1 bath, but quite spacious. We have a nice big window in the eating area that looks out over the passageway to the mountains.
Monday morning Howard went to the clinic for orientation and after a little confusion on the part of the clinic/hospital, he came home to wait until the person in charge of the orientation came in to work. After two days of "orientation" we finally started seeing patients on Wednesday afternoon.
That was also the day we got snow -- all day. Being located on a steep hill, I was hesitant to drive, but we made it. And today, Thursday, the snow is all gone -- it is raining with a temperature of 43 degrees. And very windy.
Well, I'm now going to try to add pictures but not being computer savy, who knows what will happen!
